We will have our newest family member at the end of June and we can't wait!! Trooper ... as T has named him... will look like his Daddy Devon! He will be our last Ridgeback... and I can't wait to love on him!!

Goodbye 5th grade and goodbye to our sweet Grace Academy of Dallas

I remember the day we walked into that school... I LOVED IT.  Mrs. Molet just embraced Tristan and he was off.  He walked proudly down those halls every year and there was no great joy than watching him grow. He quickly moved to Mrs. Hull's class... then Mrs. Galimore (my personal favorite). First grade was with Mrs. Hill, 2nd Mrs. Pettus (second fave!). 3rd was a hot mess but I still love Mrs. Kennedy! 4th with Mrs. Patterson... he adored her and then 5th with Mrs. Patterson and Mrs. Juhl and Botka. Two Vice Principals - Mrs. Smith and Dr. Bell... and one headmaster - Jim Clarke! We almost made it to 6th but with no boys, no social life, no friends... we were done.  There were too many days of "I hate school" - and I knew.. it was time. It's hard to end this way.  The COVID way. It's hard to do online school with a tiny school that wasn't prepared, but he did it. Hang 10 - he wins awards!! Schoolwork...  ...

FOSSIL RIM - WE SAW DIFFERENT GRASS!!!

All I have to say is I am DONE with the same trees and streets and was SO thankful to move... and drive... and of course... pet! and this ostrich cracked me up... Best day... ok, not ever but it was a GREAT quarantine Sunday!!

Social Distance fun

Image
I didn't get many pictures... BUT we had a social distance bike ride with Braeden and I walked 2 miles with Sheila (HURRRAAAAAAAAAAY) and Thurs, we went to Everett's and they social distanced and did soccer drills - and I caught up with Connie!  To be out of the house!  To see my friends!  OMG - it was awesome! AND THEN on Friday, he rode bikes with Lukas and I walked with Julie for almost 2 hours. Again, it was the lamest set of "play dates" EVER but NONE of us cared!  It. Was. Awesome!

Quarantine Mother's Day - May 10, 2020

Image
There's no doubt about it... NOTHING is normal for 2020 NOTHING Took Bear on a stroll... and we enjoyed the sunrise... Then we called my mom... She loved her flowers, her mug and her Lasca's dinner!! I loved my card from my mommy and my little gift she (shouldn't have) snuck in! So nice to be loved and remembered.  So very thankful for my mom and so wishing we were together.  It does help to Facetime ... but I want to hug her.  She makes my mommy's day special!! (T did at least wish me "Happy Mother's Day" ...  *SIGH*) other than that... it was crap. Like it didn't even exist and it breaks my heart. But SHE brings me joy! Funny video from Poolsie and last but not least... I posted something on Facebook about Brittany and Rally being the ones that made me a mom first... Brittany wrote on there. I almost fell over. and Rally wrote this... T...

We rode in your honor... and we will pray, we will fight for justice

I just CANNOT believe this poor young man was gunned down and it has taken them MONTHS to arrest anyone. https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2020/05/09/georgia-attorney-general-investigate-local-officials-handling-ahmaud-arberys-murder/ I just don't get it.  TRUTH must come out and JUSTICE must be served!! We biked 2.23 miles in your honor... on our birthday.  What a travesty this is! WE SEE YOU!

QuaranTRIM ... yup, it happened!

Things I never thought I'd say... "Em, can you come cut and color  my hair, and trim T and Ruth Ann's hair in my garage?" nope... NEVER thought I'd say that! LOL But, here I sit... cuz she said yes! In my garage with one of my dearest friends... and then I have T up next! And to think... we'd have to get groceries like this...  and while I believe that it's necessary and saving lives... IT'S STILL WEIRD. 2020... you have not been kind.    But so far, the Lord has kept us healthy.   We are blessed.
