Goodbye 5th grade and goodbye to our sweet Grace Academy of Dallas

I remember the day we walked into that school...

I LOVED IT.  Mrs. Molet just embraced Tristan and he was off.  He walked proudly down those halls every year and there was no great joy than watching him grow.

He quickly moved to Mrs. Hull's class... then Mrs. Galimore (my personal favorite).

First grade was with Mrs. Hill, 2nd Mrs. Pettus (second fave!).

3rd was a hot mess but I still love Mrs. Kennedy!

4th with Mrs. Patterson... he adored her and then 5th with Mrs. Patterson and Mrs. Juhl and Botka.

Two Vice Principals - Mrs. Smith and Dr. Bell...
and one headmaster - Jim Clarke!

We almost made it to 6th but with no boys, no social life, no friends... we were done.  There were too many days of "I hate school" - and I knew.. it was time.

It's hard to end this way.  The COVID way.

It's hard to do online school with a tiny school that wasn't prepared, but he did it.

Hang 10 - he wins awards!!

Schoolwork...

with fun stories...

and some sad notes as well

A few retirements...

and certificates showing he was part of something in serving his school

and weird goodbyes in the pouring rain...

Beautiful affirmation from his teacher

and final grades....

and notes thanking me for all I did for the past 5 years as a room mom...

All of it.  ALL OF THIS will remain in my head and my heart and hopefully catapults us forward to TCA.

It's been a sad, weird, tragic ending.  COVID 19 messed up so much but it's also given us time to be together.  Now what to do with an entire summer of no friends and no camps.  Lord have mercy... please help us find a cure!

Thank you Grace Academy for a great EIGHT years. I will be FOREVER thankful for all that little school gave him one-on-one. You were worth EVERY penny!

If you would have told me how our run at Grace Academy would end I would NEVER have believed it. But here we sit.  Now, we wait and see what He does... and what my not-so-little guy does with his future.  A little scared but A LOT excited. :)

Here we come TCA!!
