Mrs. Manners class - complete!!

Image
One of Kimberly's good friends, Elise McVeigh teaches a manners class.  She and I had lunch when I first moved here and I honestly just forgot all about it. Then Cotillion hit... and I signed T up with his friends.  Then Covid hit... and it canceled.  I thought more and more about Cotillion and truly Tristan would HATE IT.  Do you know how many buttons are on those scratchy clothes??? So I reached out to Elise.  Three classes for 2 hours.  I found 8 other interested families and we went for it. I'm bummed I didn't take more pictures, yesterday Everett, Witt and Lowell missed so this picture isn't complete. and yes I DID correct my child for his posture! Oh and why is Tristan dressed like this?  He was playing football with Trent and Grayson Sedberry and decided to jump in the pool in his clothes. I forgot to bring him new clothes soooo... he borrowed.  Way. Too. Small. LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWD Thank you for everything Mrs. Manners!!!

We didn't win but we fought hard!!

This is our new team.  And boy did they fight. We won this tournament last year .. and it is always hot but the humidity. UGH I provided shade for them and hid in the shade A LOT!! T and I have been sick for TWO WEEKS. It's been hot and brutal.  I didn't let him play much in the beginning and his team needed him but I NEEDED his lungs to work. Glen is helping me raise a man and I am SO thankful.   He is helping to raise them all... There is no greater joy than watching him play.  We had a long talk about expectations and I made sure he understood that he was NEVER to play for me. Not soccer, not football, not baseball, not basketball.. none of them.  He could take tuba lessons, draw, take cooking classes, or do whatever HE wanted and I would be right there cheering him on. It's important to me that he knows this. I want him to think for himself, choose for himself and live out the consequences of those choices. I want him to fight for what he wants. I...

Well, at least it's not Covid

Tristan started with some nasty allergies on Wed and I should have known what was coming.  Last weekend, he was SO sick. He slept for 14 hours straight on Sunday. I kept him out of school for 3 days and OMG we paid for it.   The amount of homework that this school sends is RIDICULOUS. We had all the classwork (or so we thought) and completed everything.  He came back to taking tests (with no teaching) ... GOOD TIMES! Thursday, I emailed his football coach and explained the breathing situation, so he was benched for missing practice and for being sick.  Then he was mad at ME. UGH.  We got killed by ESD 26 - 0, could have been worse I suppose. Just found out how bad we are in football, maybe he won't want to play anymore. LOL #33 (white) got about 5 minutes  of play. He was horrified  and mad but understood after a long chat (and a snow cone). Somehow I scored this (and yes, they were VERY annoyed but played along) He was back at school Thurs ...
