Tristan,

 

It was so nice to meet you and discuss your desire to work with the children this summer at TCA! Many factors came into play when deciding on the correct role for you during the summer of 2024. I had to consider your availability, the amount of hands-on experience you have had working with groups of children and your potential fit to work in the open roles we have this summer. With all this in mind, I am able to offer you an assistant counselor position that will guarantee your employment for 10-20 partial or full days this coming summer. The first obligation will be to attend a required training that takes place Wednesday, May 29, 9:00-Noon. There will be various other training/preparation activities that same week and we will begin working with the campers the week of June 3. Once camps begin, full camp days generally run 8:45-4:15. You may find yourself on the schedule full days or partial days during certain weeks. Your compensation for the hours you are scheduled during full or partial days is listed on the chart below. You will be issued your detailed work schedule the week prior to an actual work week.

If you would like to accept the offer to work with us this summer, please respond to this email. In your response, please include a t-shirt size. Once I know you have agreed to work with us, I will be in touch with our business and HR departments who will reach out to you with all the requirements and paperwork that need to be completed to make our agreement official.

 

I am so excited to have you on staff. The kids are blessed to have you as part of their Summer@TCA experience. Be on the lookout for more information soon!

Well, I booked this trip for Spring Break of 2020 and Covid had other plans. I moved THREE time and prayed this weekend would stick - AND IT DID!!  We drove a long 5 hours to Fredericksburg, TX.  It's wine country but that's the last thing we had on our minds! I swear - I found this out AFTER I booked the house! look closer... and I was only looking for this! We only got in once for about 10 minutes... it was hot AND there were SO many bugs! We headed to dinner. It was HOT and we both had on bad shoes... the mile walk to and from Tubby's (gross food BTW) was not worth it.  LOL But then we say that we lived a few doors down from a jail. Day 7 and 8

Well, the first two pics are from a very hard Day 7 I sat here... and bawled.  Tristan and I had choice words about his eating. Well, not eating.  His snacking.  It didn't go well.  I'll leave it at that.  I sat here.  Bawling.  Crying out to God to save us. To heal our land.  I told Him all of the things I CANNOT do.  Well not in my own strength.  I told Him all of the places I NEED to move out of.  All of the insecurities I have. All the things I have fought SO hard for that I'm fearful He is asking me to just forget about. I'm scared of His "NO". I'm scared that I'm being corrected or chastised for all of the decisions I've made until now. That I've just messed it all up.  But then, I remember that I'm just not that powerful.
