Tuesday we were off to the CCC
Tuesday, a tornado hit and I lost power.
Kendra and Deadra came to my house every day, walked and fed the dogs and made sure they were ok. I'm sure they were lonely and scared but I also knew, they were dogs... they would survive and I needed to clear my mind. I had no power, would lose my food, and my dogs would be alone 23 hours a day... but I KNEW He would watch over everything.
God was moving...
again this is loading backwards BUT the boys bought a fun shirt to wear at dinner and it was hilarious.
.
We ate great food and they were great sports
We walked the city and took in all the sites. They put America to shame with the culture and history and sheer beauty.
Our poor translators kept us safe but that entailed keeping up with us and our random picture taking. Driving there is dangerous because they are alllll over the place!
Tipi Co - hahahahahahahaha
That afternoon we did home visits and it was SO humbling. We did our best to encourage, to thank her SO MUCH for brining us into her home and sharing her life. The counselor (far right) was saying goodbye and leaving the ministry to raise her kids. A LOT of crying because she has walked our host through such trying times. She has 14 yo and 8 yo daughters and her husband is an alcoholic that was mistreating the older daughter. They were getting the help they needed.
She shared that she just got electricity, that she was getting stronger mentally to fight her way up and out of depression and fear. The boys were sweet and asked questions, and I pray their hearts are forever changed!!!
I don't have a lot .. and it reminded me to share what I DO have... ALWAYS... because it matters. She swept her home and made it beautiful for us. She gave us all she had!
The boys did a skit about Jonah and the whale three times, stepping out of their comfort zones in front of everyone - maybe hardest because it was each other. We were so proud.
We handed out candy and toys and colored with them and played games...
then we all learned how to make tortillas and ate them with cheese!
The older kids were a tougher nut to crack. Tracy and Elizabeth taught them about the Lord and how when called we run to him not away (as Jonah did)
SHE CUT IT FOR TRACY! I cried when she shared that story. SHE was like the woman in the Bible that gave her last two mites. SHE GAVE EVERYTHING!!!!!
Luke 21:1-4New King James Version
Luke 21:1-4
New King James Version
The Widow’s Two Mites
21 And He looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury, 2 and He saw also a certain poor widow putting in two mites.[a] 3 So He said, “Truly I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all; 4 for all these out of their abundance have put in offerings [b]for God, but she out of her poverty put in all the livelihood that she had.”
The CCC is a wonderful organization that is doing what they can. They give EVERYTHING to save just one child.
We loved our bus rides. I think I asked how to say 7,000,000 Spanish words (I still can't say whale or rainbow but I'm trying)
Darwin, Kevin, Brian, Kandy and Betsy were AMAZING!
My little whale was a big hit!!!
The games were SO fun...
And time with him... watching him get stretched and watching him process... it was simply amazing.
Did I mention it's beautiful there!?!?!!?
I love you Michele!!!
