This week we were notified of Tristan's great achievement!  I'm so proud of him!! I'm shocked he wasn't recognized in soccer... but ... that's between him, God and his coach... he had an AMAZING year, other parents said so as well.  I pray he practices hard all summer because next year will be our best year!!  Go Trojans!!

Worst Spring Break to date...

Erica, Trent, Griffin and I arrived Sat.  The boys got their skis, we got groceries and on Sunday there were off! Sunday night, we knew that Tristan, Jackson and the rest of the Rhodes family arrived safely after an 18 hour drive and we coming up to night ski.  My idea to help them get skis earlier so they didn't miss out (it's only Sun and Thurs for them) We spotted Andrew at the base of the mountain and then we found J & T. I said a quick hi and off they all went. I was about to walk to dinner when phones started blowing up. Tristan is "bleeding internally and has a broken leg" My heart sank and my knees almost buckled.   "He's coming down with ski patrol" I walked towards the mountain, Erica, Julie Wetzel and Molly were there too. We just started praying. About 10 minutes later... the longest 10 minutes of my life... I look up after saying "amen" and I heard "Hi Mom"  He's walking... wait, what? He's smiling... how can ...

He's had a tough year.  Sometimes he really tries but many days he's indifferent. I know school is so much harder for him, and while he doesn't complain.. I know. I've always told him to give his best... and I know this is his best FOR RIGHT NOW. 3.528 Praying grades pick up next year and his senior year so he can get into whatever college he wants.  Not sure we could ever afford Baylor. It's what he's always known. I know that none of this is a surprise to God.. He sees. Lord, help him to buckle down and really care. Amen.
