5 soccer games, a basketball game, a few tears and a whole lot of pride!

Soccer tournament weekend...holy busy!

Friday night game, Saturday basketball, soccer game, partial indoor game, soccer game to qualify (which we did that night) and Sunday soccer game.

He was spent!

He tried out and made the 8 week Steel team.  It's hard for him- new is not fun (I feel the same way) and it's hard to connect with people you barely know.

But he did it.  I could see him struggle to FEEL part of the team, but he did it and I was SO proud!

Yesterday we lost to the best team in the Classic Division ( a division above us), 4th in State (or something like that - they were good. They have their own bus!!!)

new coach ...

all the kids and parents

And there are times when I see him grow before my eyes and I am SO THANKFUL I'm his mom.  And I see why my dad never missed a game... because he knew what I now know... it goes by SO fast. Soak up every second. Soon, it will be gone.

And heading home to a day of video games, it doesn't bother me so much. That's how you unwind.  That's what you need to recoup. So, I'll let you have it.  And I'll sneak in and bring you food and kiss you face and wish you were snuggled up with me, watching a show, talking about the weekend..and be ok that you aren't  I'll just be thankful for what I did have, what I was able to be a part of.

I see you struggle just like I did. I see you overcome just like I did.  I see your process and fight to make it.  Just like I did.  I see you.  But better than that... He sees you. He is guiding you, He is walking with you.  I never knew that as a kid. I hope that someday that means more to you than anything.  Great job bud, I love you!
