A llama kind of day...

Last Easter I bought Tristan llama walking...

And between Covid, soccer, sickness, and weather, it was rescheduled FIVE TIMES!

I am SO thankful that we were finally able to go!!

(Here's the first time I've felt small in a while. LOL)

This is the nicest family (from Boston - and I didn't hold it against them)
They came from LA (we chatted all about Cali) and then to TX with their kids and llamas! It's a family business and so much fun!!

They bought a castle and matched the surrounding buildings...

We started off with Bahama Llama and he was my FAVORITE.  He kept eating my hair and pulling on my jacket to give him more treats!!!

Such different personalities - it was quite surprising.  Tristan LOVED him (and his half -mustache!)

They do NOT like to be petted.... but some of them are quirky and will do different things.  If you place your hand out and he likes you - you can rub his head.  He did that for T a few times and I think he felt very special

Next up - Barack O'llama

He was very gentle and the rear of the pack.  He was sloooow - like slothlike but I think it's because he liked the attention and the fact that his best friend Dalai Llama would NEVER leave him!!

Llamas take dirt baths - their fur is porous and sucks up water like a sponge. They are not great swimmers (they CAN swim) but it's so heavy it's not ideal

Have to hold on tight (and normally two people) because they are between 350 and 450 lbs and they run 20 - 30 mph!!

I think this is Sir Lance-O-Llama - he was VERY friendly and sweet.  They like to peck each other on the butt to annoy each other and we found out we needed to stop them or they would get spit on and we might get hit too!  In general, llamas don't spit at people and when they do it means people have abused them and annoyed them long enough that is all they know to do to make it stop. If a llama looks like it wants a kiss - RUN!!!

I didn't get pictures of Dalai Llama (his eyes creeped me out)...

Como T Llama may be one of these.. I can't keep up!

Tristan LOVED Pajama Llama and I'm kicking myself... he was T's favorite. He had the COOLEST coat and he knows tricks!!

Drama Llama is part llama and alpaca so he has the coolest coat too!!

I am my best self when I'm with animals. Maybe that's where I will end my days volunteering at a zoo or Fossil Rim or something... anywhere that I can be with them.  There is no judgement with them, they take you at face value and I think they can sense who you are and they trust.  If I was a fairy princess I'd be Cinderella - I'd have dogs, mice, and birds that sang and talked to me - even if I had to deal with those nasty step-sisters ... I'll take it.  Toss in the Fairy godmother and I'm in! LOL

Counting this as one of my many blessings.
