A quick trip with T to College Station

 Well, I know these trips are probably over... but he made the most of it with me. I threw in a "YES DAY" and while it was expensive, it was worth it!






This reminded me of Jordan, so I texted him thanking him for his service. My dad too.  So grateful for my freedom!!

On the way down, we stopped at BUC-EE's.  Man that was expensive!


But worth it!



We made a quick run over to College Station.  Texas A&M is AMAZING!  Holy cow.  In a lot of ways the area reminded me of Auburn.  We didn't park and walk around.. it was drizzly and ugly and SOMEONE didn't want to. I told him the story about the bonfire... so very sad to have such a loss.  1999 was a hard year there.  



He has decided it's either A&M or Baylor.  That ought to cause quite the stir in this family!!

Gig'Em, Sic'Em... whatever... I have no dog in this fight.  I just want him to go to college (and not break the bank!!)

Goodbye to Uncle Johnny

A 6am call is never "normal" and I knew something was wrong. My poor mama had to call and tell me that her brother, the patriarch of our family... my Uncle John was dying. Brain bleed. 911. Ambulance. Hospital. Aunt Jeanne. Can't go visit. Covid. Ventilator. I heard all of those words. None of them were sinking in. Too surreal. He was fine. Too heartbreaking, my Aunt just lost her sister TOO OVERWHELMING. I CAN'T GO BE WITH MY FAMILY. Then the call came that he was off of life support, and he died. My Uncle John, big burly Uncle Johnny... was gone. My Aunt Jeanne posted on Facebook. So I posted... then Auntie T... And then mom posted... and our hearts broke.  Just broke.   Every time we talk  - we just can't make sense of it. I know in time.. it will sink in.  He will not be there at the airport when I get home next trip. He won't be at Christmas or at the table eating sauce.  He's gone. BUT I WILL REMEMBER. The big D in the Big D was never the plan...

Today is a sad day to write.  Divorce. Truly sad! And a day I NEVER thought would happen to me... again. I found out, the divorce is final.  Your world Tristan is forever altered.  And I did that. I was part of that and I am truly sorry.  Your dad and I were married for a little over 15 years. We were SO different but had so much in common too.  But when the things we had in common all disappeared, so did we.  And for that, I'm truly sorry. We tried Re|Engage twice... two years of our life. We tried years of counseling but what we each needed, the other just couldn't seem to meet. So I chose to leave and keep us safe. I prayed for YEARS and finally knew, I gave all I could and it takes two to mend.  It took two to break.. but it ALWAYS takes two to mend and Daddy just wasn't willing. He said no.
