Friday was our last day with the kiddos and somehow we found the energy for a quick 7v7!
Friday we were off to CEC! It was fun... and cheesy as always. We explained to the boys that 1% of the population of Guatemala would ever have enough $ to step inside the doors. They have been a ton of times... and they needed to dig deep and remember what a gift that was the first time. Even some of the adults have never been there!!
These kids are left home ALL DAY... from like 1yo and up... because their parents work. They raise themselves and without this organization some days, they wouldn't eat.
I couldn't have been happier!
And they did their best to understand my broken Spanish!!
This kid gave me a run for my money. She was sassy and a runner... and probably exactly what my daughter would have been like had I had one. Her sister was MUCH easier! LOL
T loved his little guy.
Once I jumped in front of her car and pretended to dodge her... and then run me over... she stuck to me like glue!
Darwin - such a great man and he protected us 24/7!!
AMEN!
Towards the end... ALL FLIGHTS CANCELED. Noah was sick. Ethan was still VERY sick... it was bad.
Erica spent hours on the phone rebooking us all to multiple cities. The weather at home was still terrible every day and we were in hot water.
Thankfully back at the hotel a 12:30am flight opened up and we all switched planes. It delayed multiple times, but at 2am... we headed home.
We got in and the pups were thrilled. I threw myself into my bed. Temps were only in the 80's so it was bearable. After 2 hours I woke up and notice I forgot to turn the lights off.
MY LIGHTS WERE ON! POWER RESTORED! PRAISE GOD!!!!!!!!!!!
T was fast asleep so I did laundry. He hadn't eaten since about 4pm the day before so I let him sleep. He was skipping his 1st soccer game with the summer team.
Until 4pm, he popped out of bed and said MOM LET'S GO!!!!!!
So glad he went. He played SO WELL (not sure how on no sleep or food) but he did it!
We only had 7 players and we won 7-3 - Connor was the man!! And I got to hug Gabe! Everyone knows how much I love Gabe!!
I've never been more thankful for AC and my bed than I was at 9pm last night!!!
The Boltz bought our tickets to this trip and friends and family paid our way. I will NEVER, EVER be able to repay their kindness and generosity. If you don't feel called to go, maybe you feel called to give so someone else can. Don't ignore the nudge. We gave our very best but what we received, we will never, ever be able to repay. God is so good.
