Holt grabbed the dogs and I grabbed Tristan, Andrew and Jackson and headed to the lake!

all was great ... until it wasn't.

They literally swam us in from the middle of the cove and then walked us to the doc from the shore,

Holt was not happy, I felt terrible for them.. but they just kind of bounced back!

We sat around waiting for Noah. It was a great night!


Day two... 
I saw a ton of deer - made my heart so happy.  This is the two that stayed while I grabbed my phone.




Coffee on the deck... makes me think of Sam every time...


The boys bought hilarious little kid rods and geared up to go fish on kayaks


Some of us waited more patiently for them to come back than others...

they finally came back right before sunset.  Little did we know J, probably had another concussion. UGH!!!


they were tired and hungry...


So we made them fire up the grill!


today we cleaned up and headed home but NOT BEFORE we found the pig bus!!

He wake boarded in those overalls, swam, ate.. it was hilarious!

  and as they say... that's a wrap!

Well, I booked this trip for Spring Break of 2020 and Covid had other plans. I moved THREE time and prayed this weekend would stick - AND IT DID!!  We drove a long 5 hours to Fredericksburg, TX.  It's wine country but that's the last thing we had on our minds! I swear - I found this out AFTER I booked the house! look closer... and I was only looking for this! We only got in once for about 10 minutes... it was hot AND there were SO many bugs! We headed to dinner. It was HOT and we both had on bad shoes... the mile walk to and from Tubby's (gross food BTW) was not worth it.  LOL But then we say that we lived a few doors down from a jail. Very cool all the history in this German town!! I told Tristan it was a "YES WEEKEND" and I would say yes to anything he asked (within reason) and he made the most of it! Day 7 and 8

Well, the first two pics are from a very hard Day 7 I sat here... and bawled.  Tristan and I had choice words about his eating. Well, not eating.  His snacking.  It didn't go well.  I'll leave it at that.  I sat here.  Bawling.  Crying out to God to save us. To heal our land.  I told Him all of the things I CANNOT do.  Well not in my own strength.  I told Him all of the places I NEED to move out of.  All of the insecurities I have. All the things I have fought SO hard for that I'm fearful He is asking me to just forget about. I'm scared of His "NO". I'm scared that I'm being corrected or chastised for all of the decisions I've made until now. That I've just messed it all up.  But then, I remember that I'm just not that powerful.
