A llama kind of day...

Image
Last Easter I bought Tristan llama walking...  And between Covid, soccer, sickness, and weather, it was rescheduled FIVE TIMES! I am SO thankful that we were finally able to go!! (Here's the first time I've felt small in a while. LOL) This is the nicest family (from Boston - and I didn't hold it against them) They came from LA (we chatted all about Cali) and then to TX with their kids and llamas! It's a family business and so much fun!! They bought a castle and matched the surrounding buildings... We started off with Bahama Llama and he was my FAVORITE.  He kept eating my hair and pulling on my jacket to give him more treats!!! Such different personalities - it was quite surprising.  Tristan LOVED him (and his half -mustache!) They do NOT like to be petted.... but some of them are quirky and will do different things.  If you place your hand out and he likes you - you can rub his head.  He did that for T a few times and I think he felt very special Next up - Bara...

HAPPY 12TH BIRTHDAY TRISTAN!! I'm pretty disappointed in myself... I couldn't' get the log in to work so I couldn't do my annual last day of being "X" yo. post.  I mean, I'm not even sure what I would have said.  Maybe that it's been a REALLY hard year and I am SO proud of how you have persevered.  Maybe I would talk about how much I have seen you grow and mature at a new school with (some) new friends and a TON of challenges and ONE NASTY TEACHER (we won't name names... WEBBER!!!) But truly, I just want you to know what a gift it is to be your mom.  I get it now, I understand how my parents used to stare at me.. and the loss they felt any time I walked out the door.  They were learning to let me go WHILE trying to enjoy the moment. I think they make teens mouthy though, so it's easier to PUSH YOU out the door to college.  I'm not sure I'll ever want that... I'm just not. I took this and you were annoyed.  Actually, this was like t...

Hootie and the Covid test

Image
I'm naming this weekend Hoootie and the Covid test.  Tristan has a headache fever, two signs of COVID.  You would think it would be easy to get tests... well not when EVERYONE is sick and hospitals are maxed.  We've done nothing, I just can't understand HOW it could be Covid but we have to get tested anyway. So we set up appointments.  Will let you know how it goes for the both of us. But first, Holt was driving and spotted an owl.  He asked me to bring a box, so we dug around, I was in the bushes... he was looking under cars and we found him.  HI HOOTIE! So we used a sweatshirt and captured him.  I snuggled him the whole way home and he fell asleep on my lap.  He was so tired, poor little guy! Found out you should NEVER us a flash... it blinds them! Ugh!  But he's fine thank God. He bit Holt when we moved him into the box, they make this little clicking sound (we later learned to warn you that they don't like something.) Yesterday befo...
