Mom/Son trip for 2020 and 2021 combined... look out Fredericksburg, here we come!
Well, I booked this trip for Spring Break of 2020 and Covid had other plans.
I moved THREE time and prayed this weekend would stick - AND IT DID!!
We drove a long 5 hours to Fredericksburg, TX. It's wine country but that's the last thing we had on our minds!
I swear - I found this out AFTER I booked the house!
look closer...
and I was only looking for this!
We only got in once for about 10 minutes... it was hot AND there were SO many bugs!
We headed to dinner. It was HOT and we both had on bad shoes... the mile walk to and from Tubby's (gross food BTW) was not worth it. LOL
But then we say that we lived a few doors down from a jail. Very cool all the history in this German town!!
I told Tristan it was a "YES WEEKEND" and I would say yes to anything he asked (within reason) and he made the most of it!
I said "no" to something he asked for and he didn't miss a beat... he stopped and said "What mom? I couldn't hear you?"
That face... ugh
So... it was changed to YES (of course)
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Saturday the shops and then headed to Luchenback, TX!
Christmas Store stunk but we had fun anyway...
He wanted no part in the kissing booth!
and the poor dude had a terrible headache... so after these pictures... we headed back home.
Thankfully the Tylenol kicked in and he felt good enough to head to dinner and the bat caves!!
There are 48 (I think) bat species and 32 of them are in Texas!! It was so cool to hear about the railroad too and why it was abandoned!
We were VERY early... so we hiked!
and I wanted to prove I was there!
It really was beautiful (for Texas)
Cool stuff on display!
It's hard to see but about 800,000 bats came out... it took them 15 minutes. All female. The males arrive soon. There will be 3MILLION by the end of July. It's INSANE!!
So thankful for all we learned! T was starving so 2nd trip to H-E-B in one day for some sushi, fed a feral cat and headed to bed!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Up very early today to eat some German food and pack up and head to THE PRESERVE!
The Grand Finale!!
Bath Time for Rosie!
Then snuggle:30!

------------------------------------------------------------
It's not easy connecting as he gets older. I'm dorky and do weird things in his eyes most of the time. So I told him these trips would be annual ... and I will make the absolute most of my time with him.
He loves animals like I do... loves anything that involves a ball like I do... but I can't assume...
I always needs to ask, and LISTEN.... and sometimes just be present.
I love you Tristan... happy Mom/Son trip. I hope they mean 1/100th to you of what they mean to me. It's worth EVERY penny that I save!!
Love you buddy!! Mom
