Exhausting trip with the Balfour Beatty Board... but great for my career!

 I went to Cali with Leon and the Board.  I worked on this for MONTHS and it was EXHAUSTING but not going to lie, it was a great career move for me and I LOVED it!

I was born to "take care of people". It's a gift and a curse. I love scheduled and planning and making sure things go through.  Some of my friends hate this about me. I have a desire to please and make things happen BUT I like to be hidden in the background!

I flew to San Francisco Sat.. and we were off!

We visited our new project at LAWA on Monday and it was so great to meet the teams. I was assigned photography duties. Not sure I got a single good shot but I tried!



My boot broke (after I mailed back my other pair) and sweet Leon was helping me glue them at the airport!  Hahahahaha I LOVE HIM!



This was Caltrain TPS2 - pretty amazing seeing how we give power to a train!!




Pete Webb was in charge of the job.  Awesome Brit that lives in the States... and Leo photo bombing us!

The Queen died... so we weren't sure what was going to happen.  But, they still came.  And here are my notes I received on the way home...

Stephen taught me all about cricket (hence the "hitting a six" - his way of saying I hit a home run!)



Mike Lucki.. he scared me but ended up being awesome!




David was SO fun and told me all about his trips to Tel Aviv


And hold on to your socks people... the guy that has tried to fire me for 4 years!!

Came home to this... I think I was more sad than the Brits were!!



I pray they see my work ethic and I stay at Balfour for the next 10 years.  I would do anything to make this place succeed!  Thanks for trusting me with this Leon!!

Well, I booked this trip for Spring Break of 2020 and Covid had other plans. I moved THREE time and prayed this weekend would stick - AND IT DID!!  We drove a long 5 hours to Fredericksburg, TX.  It's wine country but that's the last thing we had on our minds! I swear - I found this out AFTER I booked the house! look closer... and I was only looking for this! We only got in once for about 10 minutes... it was hot AND there were SO many bugs! Day 7 and 8

Well, the first two pics are from a very hard Day 7 I sat here... and bawled.  Tristan and I had choice words about his eating. Well, not eating.  His snacking.  It didn't go well.  I'll leave it at that.  I sat here.  Bawling.  Crying out to God to save us. To heal our land.  I told Him all of the things I CANNOT do.  Well not in my own strength.  I told Him all of the places I NEED to move out of.  All of the insecurities I have. All the things I have fought SO hard for that I'm fearful He is asking me to just forget about. I'm scared of His "NO". I'm scared that I'm being corrected or chastised for all of the decisions I've made until now. That I've just messed it all up.  But then, I remember that I'm just not that powerful.
