Oak Meadow Ranch with Sherry - HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO US!

Zeus was the second fur baby we met.  Thor was first.. but he's a rooster so maybe he doesn't count because he doesn't have fur? LOL

Sherry and I were in love!


We took a seat at our beautiful table and we were utterly in SHOCK.


Then, they came out and surprised us for our belated birthday celebration.  We cheered and laughed and cheered some more!


They were thoughtful in everything that they did!


Sherry bought me my first cotton candy champagne!



These are not in order... but who cares..

We met and HELD Sir Winston the sloth. Mercy me... my life was complete in that VERY moment. 

HE IS THE SWEETEST!




Sherry was the CUTEST with him. Total love!!

This is Puzzles and he is the best!!!!!!!!!

They are using his plasma to heal herds around the world!!

AND the fennec fox - BABY YODA!!!!!!!




And we stole kisses from JoJo the camel!!




This guy (or maybe gal) was the last... the water buffalo were AMAZING and starting next year I can swim with him!!!

SUNDAY FUUUUN-DAY!!! When you and one of your animal-loving best friends hear about the opportunity to experience an exotic animal encounter, you JUMP at the chance to (VERY belatedly) celebrate your birthdays together!!!! Julie and I had the BEST time petting and getting waaaay up close and personal with ALL of the beautiful animals!!!
We were so impressed by the conservation work that Kristin Navarro is doing!!! These animals are so well-loved and so well-cared for, and it is a cause that is very near and dear to our hearts!!!! The work they are doing there is so meaningful and important!
Kristin and her fantastic family made each guest feel so special!! The staff is SO AMAZING-passionate, educated, and enthusiastic; and every single staff member went out of his/her way to make our day absolutely magical!!! From the delicious chef-prepared meal with the fabulous cotton candy champagne, the prayer and blessing of the food, the knowledge shared by every staff member, the unending patience as we all snuggled the animals, countless photos and videos taken by the guides all to make each guest feel like they’re the only ones there, we cannot say enough WONDERFUL things about Oak Meadow Ranch!! We never wanted to leave!!! We will definitely be returning soon!!!

Well, I booked this trip for Spring Break of 2020 and Covid had other plans. I moved THREE time and prayed this weekend would stick - AND IT DID!!  We drove a long 5 hours to Fredericksburg, TX.  It's wine country but that's the last thing we had on our minds! I swear - I found this out AFTER I booked the house! look closer... and I was only looking for this! We only got in once for about 10 minutes... it was hot AND there were SO many bugs! Day 7 and 8

Well, the first two pics are from a very hard Day 7 I sat here... and bawled.  Tristan and I had choice words about his eating. Well, not eating.  His snacking.  It didn't go well.  I'll leave it at that.  I sat here.  Bawling.  Crying out to God to save us. To heal our land.  I told Him all of the things I CANNOT do.  Well not in my own strength.  I told Him all of the places I NEED to move out of.  All of the insecurities I have. All the things I have fought SO hard for that I'm fearful He is asking me to just forget about. I'm scared of His "NO". I'm scared that I'm being corrected or chastised for all of the decisions I've made until now. That I've just messed it all up.  But then, I remember that I'm just not that powerful.
