Tristan's first HOCO ask - Even West!

 

Tristan really didn't want a date for HOCO.  Well, he probably wanted a date, he just didn't want the drama.

He wanted Eve to go with a friend but after a rocky situation at a HOCO last year, her parents said "no more".  Unless it was Tristan.

Fast forward...


They've known each other since they were in Kindergarten together ...

5 to 15...


I couldn't find a group photo without Grayson in it. Ironically, he turned 16 yesterday so it was cute to include him!

Poor "Micon" got roped into helping... someone had to hold the sign, glad it wasn't me Jackson!


and Brooke and I had some fun too!


Love these two cuties so much and this photo is a tad cuter..
but the cup we had made wasn't turned around!


Apparently ordering a matcha latte with almond milk was a challenge.  Oh to be a fly on that wall!! I was proud of him though.  He and Jackson ran errands, ate (he ate onions, don't even get me started on the lecture) and then grabbed what they needed at Starbucks and made it to us with 3 minutes to spare!

HOCO 2024 - here we come!

Well, I booked this trip for Spring Break of 2020 and Covid had other plans. I moved THREE time and prayed this weekend would stick - AND IT DID!!  We drove a long 5 hours to Fredericksburg, TX.  It's wine country but that's the last thing we had on our minds! I swear - I found this out AFTER I booked the house! look closer... and I was only looking for this! We only got in once for about 10 minutes... it was hot AND there were SO many bugs! We headed to dinner. It was HOT and we both had on bad shoes... the mile walk to and from Tubby's (gross food BTW) was not worth it.  LOL But then we say that we lived a few doors down from a jail. Very cool all the history in this German town!! I told Tristan it was a "YES WEEKEND" and I would say yes to anything he asked (within reason) and he made the most of it! Day 7 and 8

Well, the first two pics are from a very hard Day 7 I sat here... and bawled.  Tristan and I had choice words about his eating. Well, not eating.  His snacking.  It didn't go well.  I'll leave it at that.  I sat here.  Bawling.  Crying out to God to save us. To heal our land.  I told Him all of the things I CANNOT do.  Well not in my own strength.  I told Him all of the places I NEED to move out of.  All of the insecurities I have. All the things I have fought SO hard for that I'm fearful He is asking me to just forget about. I'm scared of His "NO". I'm scared that I'm being corrected or chastised for all of the decisions I've made until now. That I've just messed it all up.  But then, I remember that I'm just not that powerful.
